White Friday is the Gulf's name for the big end-of-November sale, and in 2026 it falls on Friday 27 November. For shoppers in Oman it now sits right after the National Day holiday, which makes the last week of November one of the busiest buying windows of the year. If you run a shop, an online store or a service business, a well-planned White Friday Oman campaign can bring in sales, new customers and contacts you can keep talking to through December.
The problem is that every brand shouts "SALE" at the same time. Customers scroll past most of it. This guide shows how to plan a year-end campaign that stands out, stays within the rules and keeps working after the weekend is over.
Why White Friday matters in Oman
Large regional marketplaces and retailers have trained GCC shoppers to wait for late November. Many people in Oman now delay purchases of electronics, perfume, fashion, furniture and gifts until the offers start. Three things make the period special here:
- It follows National Day. The official National Day holiday in 2026 is 25 and 26 November, so many people have free time and are already in a celebratory, shopping mood just before White Friday.
- It leads into year-end. Winter is the season for outings, weddings, travel and visiting family, and December school holidays are not far away.
- Shoppers compare more. With offers everywhere, people check prices on Instagram, Google and marketplaces before they buy. A clear, honest offer wins over a vague one.
Start with the rules: approvals and honest pricing
Before you design a single banner, check the consumer protection requirements. Under Oman's consumer protection regulations, businesses are expected to get prior approval from the relevant authority before running price discounts or promotional offers, and to show the price before and after the discount clearly. Fake "was" prices and misleading claims can lead to fines. Procedures can change, so confirm the current steps with the Consumer Protection Authority well before your launch date, not the day before.
A simple checklist:
- Apply for any approval early and keep a copy
- Show the original price, the discount and the new price on every item or listing
- State the start and end dates and any limits ("while stocks last", "selected items")
- Make sure the price charged at the till or checkout matches the advertised price
Honest pricing is not just about avoiding penalties. Omani customers talk, and a reputation for genuine offers is worth more than one big weekend.
Choose an offer people actually want
A flat "20% off everything" is easy, but it is rarely the most effective or the most profitable. Think about what your customers already buy and what would make them act now:
- Bundles: a perfume with a matching body spray, a phone with a case and screen protector, a service package at a set price
- Tiered offers: spend a certain amount and get a gift or free delivery
- Limited hero deals: two or three products with a strong discount to attract attention, while the rest of the range has smaller offers
- Early access: let WhatsApp subscribers or past customers shop a day before everyone else
- Service businesses: salons, clinics, gyms and training centres can sell prepaid packages or vouchers to be used in December and January
Work out your margins first. Decide the lowest price you can accept for each product, and only then decide the discount.
Build a simple campaign timeline
Most of the results come from what you do before the sale day, not on it. A practical four-week plan:
- Four weeks before: confirm offers, stock and approvals. Prepare product photos, prices in Arabic and English, and landing pages.
- Three weeks before: start building your audience. Invite people to join a WhatsApp broadcast list or sign up for early access.
- Two weeks before: tease the sale on social media without revealing everything. Run small test ads to see which products and messages get attention.
- Sale week: launch to subscribers first, then to everyone. Increase ad budgets on your best performers and post daily updates.
- After the sale: thank customers, ask for reviews and follow up with a smaller December offer.
Pick the right channels
Instagram, TikTok and Snapchat
Short videos showing the product, the price and the deadline work better than polished posters. Use Stories and Reels for countdowns. Our guide to Instagram, TikTok and Snapchat in Oman explains which platform suits which audience.
Google Search and Shopping
People search for "White Friday offers", "عروض الجمعة البيضاء" and specific products with "Oman" or "Muscat". Search ads catch people who are ready to buy. Make sure your Google Business Profile shows your sale hours if you have a physical shop.
In Oman, many sales close in a chat. Prepare quick replies for common questions about price, sizes, delivery and payment, and make sure someone is available to answer quickly during the sale. Our WhatsApp Business guide covers how to set this up properly. Only message people who have agreed to hear from you.
Get your website and checkout ready
Ads are wasted if the page they lead to is slow or confusing. Before the sale:
- Test your website on a mobile phone using a normal data connection
- Create one clear sale page with offers grouped by category
- Show delivery areas, delivery times and costs across Oman clearly
- Offer the payment methods your customers use, including cash on delivery if you can manage it
- Check that stock levels on the website match what you actually have
If you sell in-store only, a simple page or Instagram highlight with offers, location and opening hours still helps people decide to visit.
Write messages that respect your audience
Write your offers in both Arabic and English, and make sure the Arabic reads naturally rather than like a translation. Keep images and wording modest and family-friendly. Because White Friday comes straight after National Day, you may want to celebrate the occasion first, but avoid turning national symbols into a discount gimmick. Keep the two messages respectful and separate.
Good sale messages are specific: what the offer is, who it is for, and when it ends. "Up to 40% off selected abayas until Sunday midnight" is stronger than "Huge White Friday sale!"
Measure results and keep the customers
Decide before the sale what success looks like: number of orders, average order value, new customers or leads. Track where each sale came from using UTM links on ads and posts, and record WhatsApp enquiries in a simple sheet.
The biggest win is often after the weekend. Every new buyer is someone you can reach again. Ask for a Google review, invite them to your WhatsApp list and plan a smaller offer for December or the new year so the campaign keeps paying back.
